Mentorship Program Qualifications
Mentor Requirements:
- Active member of the HAPL with at least seven (7) years of oil and gas industry experience and a demonstrated track record of professional excellence.
- Commitment to six (6) months of mentorship. The Mentorship Program encourages Mentors and Mentees to develop mutually beneficial long-term relationships that extend beyond the six (6) month commitment.
- Mentors will be expected to develop open and honest communication with Mentee(s) and keep discussions of personal or sensitive matters confidential between Mentor/Mentee when appropriate.
- Prospective Mentors should hold a passion for helping other professional landmen improve and develop by providing information & assistance, and by imparting advice, knowledge and skills to mentees.
Mentee Requirements:
- Be professionally occupied in the oil and gas industry, with proven track record of seeking professional excellence; Individuals seeking to enter the land profession and college and law school students focused on a career in the oil and gas industry are welcome.
- Active member of HAPL (Student Membership acceptable for active students).
- Commitment to six (6) months of menteeship. The Mentorship Program encourages Mentors and Mentees to develop mutually beneficial long-term relationships that extend beyond the six (6) month commitment.
- Mentees will be expected to develop open and honest communication with their Mentor(s) and keep discussions of personal or sensitive matters confidential between Mentor/Mentee when appropriate.
- Have a desire to seek information and assistance to gain knowledge and skills from both Mentors and other Mentees and be willing to listen and be respectful to Mentor(s).
