Winter Land Institute to be held at the Hyatt Regency Houston Hotel, 1200 Louisiana Street, Houston, Texas 77002, on Wednesday, February 6, 2008. This full-day program is designed for all energy industry professionals with any involvement in acquisitions and sales of oil and gas properties and AAPL extends a special invitation to geologists, engineers, and landmen.This workshop is designed to thoroughly review and discuss the major components of the AAPL Model Form Joint Operating Agreement. The presentation will cover how to prepare and review a JOA, including preparation of the various exhibits and use of "other" provisions. The discussion will cover in great detail the preparation of Exhibit A, the definition of the contract area and interests of the parties. We will also cover the key features of the accounting procedure, gas balancing agreement, insurance exhibit, and more.
The workshop should be of interest to all energy professionals with any involvement in joint operations. The AAPL Model Form Operating Agreement is the one standard agreement used in the oil and gas industry and understanding its use and preparation is essential to successful operations.
