The 2009 Winter Land Seminar will focus on two very hot plays; the Haynesville Shale in Louisiana, and the Marcellus Shale, which spans through Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and other states. We will start the seminar with a presentation on basic geology for the non-geologist, as Paul Pause will go over oil and gas geology, and how it applies to every-day landman matters.
Following that presentation, we will look at the geological, technical and land-legal issues surrounding the two hot plays. The Haynesville Shale play will be presented by geologist Louis Gilbert and attorney Richard W. Revels Jr., Liskow & Lewis, and the Marcellus Shale play will be presented by geologist Dan Billman, and attorney, Timothy M. Miller, Robinson & McElwee.
These two presentations will focus on the key issues of affecting the two plays including: defining the boundaries of each play, drilling and completion issues, fracing issues, water issues, pooling and units, leasing problems, surface access issues, and more.
Registration and payment is through this AAPL Link
