M.B.A. in Finance, Tulane University, 1983; B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, Vanderbilt University, 1979. Scott was a Supervising Engineer at Exxon Company, U.S.A. before joining NSAI in 1984. Scott's experience includes large project management, deepwater field evaluations, equity determinations, and probabilistic analysis of exploration prospects and new discoveries. His geographic areas of expertise include all United States producing basins, the Gulf of Mexico, the North Sea, Indonesia, and the Gulf of Thailand.

Prior to co-founding Drillinginfo in 1999, Allen was an independent oilman for seven years, co-founding three profitable exploration & production companies. He began his oil patch career with Marathon Oil Corporation, as a geophysicist working in research, seismic acquisitions, and South American exploration. Allen is active in all aspects of Drillinginfo’s new product development and is widely recognized for his leadership and vision. He holds several patents in the field of component seismology. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology from Rice University and a Master of Science in Geology from University of Texas at El Paso.

A partner in the Houston office, serves as the Global Chair of the Oil & Gas Transactions Practice and Co-chair of the global Oil & Gas Industry team.

Mr. Darden's practice focuses on:

• International and United States oil and gas ventures (including LNG, deep-water and unconventional resource development projects)


• International and US infrastructure projects


• Asset acquisitions and divestitures


• Energy-based financings (including project financings, reserve-based loans and production payments)

Mr. Darden previously served as Vice President, Business Development, for Nuevo Energy Company, with responsibility for US and international business development, international new ventures, international legal and negotiations matters, international mergers and acquisitions, as well as real estate portfolio management and land matters in the US. He has also served as the firmwide chair of the global oil and gas practice at a major international firm and worked in the international legal and/or negotiations areas for Tenneco Oil Company, BHP Petroleum and Hunt Oil Company.

Mr. Darden is a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators, in which he has served as an officer, director and committee chairman and was co-chair of the committee that developed the model form international farmout agreement. Mr. Barnes joined The Clearinghouse in 1998 and has over 40 years of experience in the industry. His responsibilities at the Clearinghouse have expanded from his initial focus on business development to currently managing of all aspects the business. Along with Mr. Ken Olive, Mr. Barnes remains the face of the Clearinghouse and is a readily recognizable A&D professional with a far-reaching network of industry contacts. Prior to joining The Clearinghouse, he spent twenty years with various Tenneco Oil and Tenneco Energy entities, in various management positions, including land, contract negotiations, natural gas marketing, trading and transportation. Mr. Barnes is an SEC broker dealer registered representative holding Series 63 and 22 licensing. Mr. Barnes is currently serving on the Advisory Board for OU’s Energy Management Program and is a 1976 graduate of the University of Oklahoma with a BBA in Petroleum Land Management.
