HAPL September Luncheon

 
Join us for our September luncheon at the Houston Petroleum Club. Check-in starts at 11:30 and lunch will be served at 12:00 followed by a presentation by Rob Knight and Jordan Mullins of Flowers Davis Oil & Gas Group. The topic will be "Ethical Considerations: Trilogy of Working as Lawyers and Landmen for the Good of the Client." We hope to see you there! 
 
1 RPL/CPL credit will be available.
 
If you make a reservation, pay for it, and later decide to cancel it before the reservation deadline, you can apply for a refund through the HAPL Office.   We must receive your request to cancel your registration in writing by email at hapl@hapl.org or fax at  713-622-3723.  You will receive the total amount charged minus a $5.00 credit card processing fee.  The deadline for this event is Friday, September 14, 2018.

When you request a refund, include the name and date of the event, and how much you paid.  Refunds cannot be made for reservations that were paid for, but not cancelled before the reservations deadline. When that happens, you are considered a no-show.
 
All pre-registered members/guests for this event that have not prepaid and do not attend will be billed as a no-show.

Rob Knight started his legal career by opening a law firm in Houston, Texas, where he practiced in the areas of family, criminal, real estate and probate law.  He relocated to Tyler, Texas, to focus his work on oil and gas title opinions. At Flowers Davis, he practices in the areas of oil and gas title opinions and real estate law.  Rob typically works for large multi-national oil and gas companies, as well as mid sized and small local oil and gas companies.  He also represents banks, municipalities and title companies.


Rob has prepared title opinions in multiple states, from simple title opinions to complex division order, unit-wide opinions and leasehold opinions.  He also prepares title opinions in anticipation of both residential and commercial loans, and for condemnation proceedings.  He has worked in several areas of law that currently overlap real property law, including probate and family law, and has a thorough understanding of all instruments within a chain of title.


Rob enjoys working in real property law and reviewing land title.  Whether he is preparing title opinions or aiding the issuance of loans and title policies, he understands the importance of providing his services in a quick and efficient manner, and in delivering a quality product.  


Outside of work Rob enjoys playing guitar, painting, mountain biking, yoga, preparing for and competing in obstacle course races.

Speaker Jordan Mullins
Jordan Mullins joined Flowers Davis in August 2017.  His practice focuses in the areas of oil and gas title opinions and real estate law.  He enjoys the challenge of conducting thorough legal and title research to determine leasehold and ownership of the mineral and surface estates for his clients. Jordan Mullins joined Flowers Davis in August 2017.  His practice focuses in the areas of oil and gas title opinions and real estate law.  He enjoys the challenge of conducting thorough legal and title research to determine leasehold and ownership of the mineral and surface estates for his clients.


Prior to joining the firm, Jordan worked at XTO Energy and as a petroleum landman in which he has gained extensive experience in the energy industry.


During law school, Jordan interned at the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals where he researched and wrote case opinions for Judge Liles Burke.  He also mediated cases in the district court of Montgomery, Alabama.


Outside of work, Jordan enjoys snow skiing, hiking, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his wife, Shelly, and their children.
